What you need to know before you start therapy

  • Traditional family therapy is not offered. Services focus on individual therapy, parent support sessions, and parent–child sessions when clinically appropriate.

  • No. Healing Is a Journey LLC does not provide:

    • Custody evaluations

    • Parenting time recommendations

    • Court-ordered or forensic assessments

    • Mediation or parenting coordination services

    Providing both therapy and evaluative services would constitute a conflict of interest. If you are seeking custody-related evaluations or legal decision-making support, a qualified custody evaluator, mediator, or parenting consultant should be consulted.

  • Services are available for:

    • Children and adolescents

    • Adults across all stages of life

    • Parents seeking support or guidance

    • Parent–child dyads

    Support is provided for concerns such as anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, trauma, parenting stress, burnout, identity challenges, and high-demand life or work environments.

  • All services are provided 100% via telehealth using secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms.

    Clients must be physically located within the state of Texas at the time of each session.

  • Yes. Telehealth is a well-established and clinically effective option for outpatient mental health care. Many clients find virtual therapy to be convenient, private, and supportive—especially when accessing care from a familiar environment.

  • You will need:

    • A smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer

    • A stable internet connection

    • A private space where you can speak freely

  • Insurance coverage varies by plan. Many insurance carriers offer telehealth mental health benefits; however, coverage is not guaranteed.

    It is recommended that you:

    • Contact your insurance provider directly

    • Ask about mental health or behavioral health telehealth coverage

    Insurance and self-pay options can be discussed during your consultation.

  • Session length varies depending on the service type and clinical needs. Details regarding session length and frequency are discussed during the consultation and intake process.

  • Yes. Therapy services for minors require consent from a parent or legal guardian. Confidentiality limits and parent involvement are discussed during intake and reviewed as clinically appropriate.

  • The first session focuses on understanding your concerns, goals, and background. This is a collaborative conversation designed to establish clarity, comfort, and next steps. There is no pressure to share more than you are ready to discuss.

  • No. Healing Is a Journey LLC is not a crisis center and does not provide emergency or on-call crisis services.

  • To begin services, please complete the Request Consultation form. You will be contacted within 24–48 business hours to discuss availability and next steps.

  • No. Submitting a form, email, or voicemail does not establish a therapist–client relationship. A therapeutic relationship begins only after completion of intake documentation, informed consent, and mutual agreement to begin services.
